Root Upgrade android while rooted???

I want to upgrade to android 4.3 but my tablet is rooted and I heard that if u upgrade it won't be rooted anymore and I don't have access to a comp to root my device all over again. Any suggestions??

You can flash a rom based on Android 4.3

yeah if you take the official update youll lose root so download a rooted rom to the tablet and flash it in recovery.
Why not use a 4.4.2 rom though?

Hasn't dropped for anything quite yet . Sprint jumped the gun a bit with the announcement.

The 2012 N7 lauched with 4.2 (don't remember if 4.2.0, 4.2.1 or 4.2.2), which is why there is ambiguity. In another thread the OP said it had been in storage for a while, so it could easily be on 4.2.x still.

Yes I'm still on 4.2 but wanna try flashing a 4.3 version. Any one recommend a ROM that's nice and stable. I haven't tried flashing this thing on a min

There are loads of stable 4.3 roms so it depends what you want from it. There's cyanogen which is pretty bare but with a few customisations like theming or there's more feature rich roms with a lot of customisation.
You could just use a rooted stock rom.
Can I ask though, why 4.3? 4.4.2 kitkat is better
