Hi guys,

I am total newby to these forums so please excuse my very basic level of understanding of all things Android.

Upon reading these forums it has dawned on me that I haven't upgraded my Orange HTC since it was purchased and that I
 
Upgrade to the firmware ending in .66 from the HTC website and then you should instantly get Android 2.1 firmware pushed Over-The-Air to your phone like your friend's phone :)

And yes, you're on android 1.5 at the moment and the build number just refers to the version of the ROM you're using.

It should work in theory, but Windows 7 is sometimes a bit temperamental with some of HTC's software. It's certainly worth trying though, you might get lucky.
