Root upgrade my eris to what?

I want to get my wife a phone from ebay, or amazon, or somewhere. Im looking to start phasing out our Eris's so i want to get one probably same manufacturer (HTC).

Whats a good replacement for the Eris users, one that's up-to-date-fast(much faster than the Eris of course), and rootable/flashable in a fashion that makes you guys happy?

Rezound for me. It's a beast and a world phone (although it wasn't advertised as one and someone over at XDA stumbled on it)

well our phones have been upgraded. see this thread. http://androidforums.com/android-lounge/647410-suggestions-new-droid.html got a Toro(Galaxy Nexus), and the LG Intuition, dont ask me why on the latter.
