Help upgrade my sd card

Hello i have a huawei ascend with cm7. I currently have a 2gb sd card but want to upgrade to 8gb.I tried copy & pasting contents from the 2 to the 8 but thats not working I searched but couldnt find this info. Thanks in advance

Here is how you do this. (on a side note is your 8G a class 4 or better, it probably is but just wanted to check. It's a speed rating)

Put the 2G card in your phone.
Hook up to computer via USB.
Mount the card.
Copy all files into a directory on your computer.
Eject the card from the computer.
Unmount the card from the computer on the phone.
Go into settings> SD card> Unmount SD card.
Now it is safe to remove the card, so remove the card.

Put the 8G card in the phone.
Settings>SD card> Format SD card
Mount SD card.
Pull down USB menu> mount SD card to computer
Now copy files from folder above onto SD card. Removable drive d: (or whichever drive letter it is)
Eject removable drive from computer.
Unmount the card (on the phone)

And you should be fully functional now.
