Upgraded from iOS - help needed

Just got and activated my new Note 3 coming from an iPhone 4S and all I have to say is WHAT A SCREEN! WOW!

However, there were a few negative experiences and I wish the initial user experience was more refined.

A few things I did not like and can be improved -
- Lots of "garbage" items (advertising spam) on the screens, amazon widget, Verizon stuff etc. This is quite overdone, you would never see this sort of thing on iOS and I think it detracts from the first time user experience. I had to manually delete a lot of the irrelevant apps. The advertising is so blatant that even the USB wire has ads on them for "Backup plus"... this is very cheesy.

- I keep getting some errors with popular apps "Ziprealty has stopped working" etc. This never happened on iOS.

- Sometimes the phone does thing automatically that I can't really understand what is going. Suddenly it opens up "Updating applications" and starts applying updates without even consulting me. I think this should be turned off by default.

Overall, I am very satisfied and the goofs above are minor.

So, my query - I need some suggestions for a CASE with a stand that does not add too much bulk to the unit. Any suggestions?

Also does anyone know whay Visual VM is free with iOS and it is $2.99/mo. with the Galaxy Note 3?

Apple stopped innovating three years ago. I switched from an iPhone to a Note 3 for this very reason.

It's too early to rate/review hard cases for this device, go with something cheap until the Otterbox Defender is available, +/- 30 days.

Apple controls what goes onto an iPhone. If the carrier doesn't like it, there's no other manufacturer they can go to for an iPhone.

With Android phones, the carrier controls what goes on the phone. So blame Verizon.

Verizon's choice again. You have the option of being notified first, or of not doing updates at all.

Verizon again. Verizon isn't being controlled by Samsung, the way they are by Apple.

iOS 7 does the same thing now.

The Amazon Widget is easily removed from the home screen.

Thanks all, yes, I know it is Verizon's fault but what I am saying is that it is a shame that Verizon ruins it.

It took me a couple hours but I have nicely customized my phone and now it's perfect...and the Note 3 is so ridiculously fast compared to my 4S it's not even funny! In addition the battery seems to be MUCH better despite being a much larger 1080p
screen. Even the WiFi reception is superior to the 4s.
