Help Upgrading LG Optimus V

I'm pretty sure it's up to the manufacturer to deploy the update to your carrier then they give it to you.

unless you root your phone I'm afraid you haven't got a choice.
 
Virgin may update the V to Gingerbread 2.3 at some point in the future...LG has said there will be a Gingerbread update for the Optimus line. If you want it before then you'd have to root your phone and find a build for it...I'm sure there will be a thread here and elsewhere on it before long. Virgin will not "allow" it for warranty purposes unless it's their release.
