Help Upgrading problem?

Last week I got my brand new SGS2, great phone! One problem; I cannot upgrade it. I downloaded Kies from the Samsung website, Kies says the phone is up-to-date with Android 2.3.4 installed on it, while 2.3.6 is the latest firmware.

The *#1234# trick gives the following information:
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKI1
CSC: I9100DBTKH1

I bought the phone on the internet, shipped to the Netherlands. When it arrived it had German texts with it, so it is probably a German phone. Maybe that has something to do with the upgrading trouble?

On other sites I read I should flash the phone to install new firmware on it; but that will void my warranty which I do not want. Why can't I just use Kies to upgrade?

Hope someone can help me out!

Sorry to say this but welcome to the club. You should consider yourself lucky that the phone even connects to Kies. Mine doesn't connect to Kies via cable at all.

The problem with unbranded phones is that they take longer to get their updates than most carrier branded ones. If you're not interested in upgrading via odin I'm afraid you're going to have to be patient. An upgrade will be made available some time.

Thanks for your quick replies! :)
Ok, so people with unbranded phones have to wait longer for updates to be released? So people with AT&T or whatever are able to update to 2.3.6 and I am not?

Why?
