Upgrading SD card question

well i have a rooted optimus v using the Move2sd app. I am upgrading from a 4gb to a 16gb and i was wondering if shutting my phone first removing the sd card copy all the files to the PC and then transferring to the new SD card and inserting the 16gb card and turning on the phone, all of the apps that have been installed will they still be in working conditions?
 
I did the same thing just yesterday, upgraded to a 16gb card. I don't have a card reader on my PC so I just transferred the files over USB from the phone, then shut down the phone, put the new card in and transferred the files back. Seemed to work fine.
