Upgrading SD Card

Hi all

I have an 8gig SD card hanging around doing nothing.

Is it as easy as copying everything from the stock 2gig card into the 8 gig and just carrying on?

Yup, just done.

All seems great.

I have no idea why it's seen as a disadvantage to use microsd over internal memory - I find it way more flexible.

My flaw is unless you root, apps can't run off the SD. I would like to be able to have more app storage space on the G1 it is very limited, 88MB I think. On the MyTouch it is 288 MB.

I do like having and SD card for all the uses apps can store data though. Great option.

Slower I/O with the microSD card and if you remove the card, will loose data that some apps write to it -- that is, you cannot keep data in sync accross cards with out some hassel. Otherwise, not really a big deal. Hopefully your card is a Class 6 card (it should have a cricle with a number in it)....

Looking to upgrade mine to 16gb, could anyone please tell me step by step how to transfer everything to a newbie.

Also how to make the SD card the main data holder.

Id appreciate any help!!
