So far - successful! Even Swype was still working, and without having to disable/reenable it!
Live wallpaper is the only thing noticeable for me so far - I'm using the Grassy one. Can't wait to see what new ones get created by people.
An improvement I'm hoping to see is the backlight not turning it self on in the middle of the night and staying on. I have the setting for it to stay lit if powered, but only when I've turned it on. What I've noticed is that once it gets to full charge, the backlight randomly comes on, and I then can't get it to stay off. Last night, first night after the update, it managed to stay off. But it has done this before, so we'll see if it's fixed or not.

Sorry to hear about your troubles... I just ordered a Droid, and will arrive on Tuesday.
In regards to the battery pull... I don't think this works as a "hard reset" on this phone? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

After updating to 2.1 yesterday that's all I had left on my home pages this morning.
I updated my wife's phone also and it is still as it was before... (normal)

Powered off phone, removed battery for about 5 minutes then replaced it, powered back up and now my home pages have been restored to where they were yesterday.

Well i just got my certified like new... Apparently it was a screen replacement? The screen has major over glue and you can tell you can see it all the way around the outside of the screen and theres a nice big nick on the top right corner by the aux jack. Looks like ill be callin verizon yet again...
Verizon will do that to you. But if you call and complain they'll send out another no problem.
I'm expecting my 2nd replacement to arrive today. hope it looks ok. I'm just counting the days until the Incredible is out, I've had a lot of nagging issues with this particular Droid I have now. It's also a replacement, as my original just didn't power on one day.
Just make sure you test everything. Camera, apps, run it through a lot to make sure they sent you one that works properly.
This one I have the camera has never worked. Thankfully, it's been the only issue, but I finally got sick of it and had them send me out another.
Yeah I'm sitting in the dealership now playing around with everything and this phone is runnning hot and just lagging bad in general and I've only put one app on it! Its takin me 2 mins to type trhis and have this come out of the screen! Ridiculous!
Yeah. It is what it is. There's bad phones in every bunch. Of course, since the Incredible will be new, I'm sure I'll have issues with it too. haha
