Upgrading to Dinc2 from Droid

I apologize if this has been asked. Tried a search but the sheer number of threads on this site returns hundreds of results of even the most abstract relation to my search criteria.

My wife and I had original Droids and we're due for an upgrade. We both settled on the Dinc2 and I'm about to pull the trigger (Amazon Wireless for 29.99 each) but was wondering if there is some sort of guide that I help me ensure all our data/apps migate to the new phone.

Thanks for your help!

I haven't needed to try this yet, but I've read that some people use AppBrain to sync apps and restore to new phones. As long as you use the same primary gmail address/account anything you've purchased on the Market should be available to download again without re-purchase.

I use Go Contacts and backup contacts to the SD card. Anything on the SD card can be backed up to a PC. Verizon's Backup Assistant should be backing up contacts to their server (make sure it's working). If you need help I believe the folks in your local Verizon store will transfer contacts from the old phone to the new.

Hope this helps.

I have my contacts and calendar synced to Google. I've never had an issue with them not migrating over.

Your apps may not automatically come back but if you go onto the market from your computer you can got into your apps and resend them to your phone.

the aps you paid for on the market should queue up on the market on the new phone when your email is put in. The free aps will have to be redownloaded. You can use programs like the ones that have been suggested here. I use the app backup/restore for when I had to factory reset my phone and it worked just fine.

Good luck and enjoy the inc2!!
