To upgrade to JB Samsung says the model number should be as follows,

Applicable Model All SPH-D710 Models ending in BSTSEP-D710AAABST, SEP-D710ZKABST, SEP-D710ZWABST, SPH2D710AAABST, SPH2D710ZKABST, SPH2D710ZWABST, SPH-D710AAABST, SPH-D710ZKABST, SPH-D710ZWABST

My phone says SPH-D710BST. No other info on the phone. Is my phone not supported or has the update not been made available for this phone?

Are you using the Kies PC client or the web-browser client? Only the PC client will provide the firmware update, but your browser client should be able to at least access your phone. If it's not working, try updating your Kies android app. If your Kies PC client isn't working, trying updating your Java to the latest version. Good luck.

Boost's is GC01, not GB27. Not sure what the differences are between the two, if any at all.

The difference is in the preloaded bloatware, labeling and the MMS server settings. That is why we have no trouble running a Sprint ROM while on a Boost account. Other than that, they are the same. They have different build numbers to differentiate between Sprint, Boost, and Virgin.

Its weird, I hook my phone up to my desktop and it won't connect, I hook it up to my laptop and no issues. Anyways I updated to JB and I've had a few errors mostly it saying touchwiz has stopped. anyone else?

Say what are the advantages to running JB over ICS if you use a custom launcher for your home screen? Is it a significant improvement? Would I notice a difference doing nothing other than running apps from the Play market if I upgraded? I'm thinking about it but this phone is a rom virgin and I gotta have my root.

Well JB is smooth as silk and more responsive than ICS. Plus you get things like Google Now which ICS doesn't have. It is not too hard to root GC01 you can flash the GB27 repack to root it like in the root guide and then flash back to a stock kernel once you have super user in. There is a repack of the GC01 being tested now so hopefully we will have a good daily driver kernel with recovery. Watching video in a window while doing other things is nice too. True, at first glance it looks similar to ICS. It is the additional features added in and performance under the hood that make it worthwhile.

The video player in Jb has the ability to play the video in a floating window on your screen that you can slide around while sending a text, sending an email etc.

The GC01 repack works great. For those wanting root, when the repack is released, just flash the repack kernel zImage in Mobile Odin, reboot into the recovery and install Superuser or SuperSU then if you want the stock kernel back just flash the stock kernel zImage in Mobile Odin. All's good and gravy.

Mobile Odin Pro on the Play market says it will root your phone while flashing even a stock rom. Seems like a good purchase for $5

Three things I found.
One, the transfer remember all of my apps, music, and pictures. I did have common apps in folders that didn

So you use the stock launcher then. Somebody in a different thread just said that it takes completely different hardware to get a digital radio to tune to a different frequency, but I'm not convinced.

the frequency is detemined by a resonant circuit composed of resistance and capacitance.if the circuit isnt variable [tunable] some components will need to be changed

It is a great app. It will maintain root while flashing, but does need root in order to work in the first place (so you have to be rooted before you can use it). One thing to remember with our phone is Mobile Odin Pro has a problem with flashing modems, and you have to either use PC Odin or use a recovery kernel and flash the modem that way.
