I noticed my phone was on 1% battery so i ran to get a charger when i came back up my phone said 'do not turn off target!!!' so i left it and 30mins passed still nothing so i took the battery out. but obviously the battery has run out of power and when i tried to put my battery back in and charge (without turning the phone on) my phone doesn't charge, tried 3 different chargers and still no luck so i had that 1st error and now my phone also wont charge what can i do?

Help.

Kind Regards.

Welcome SJMalloy!
I see for some reason your device booted into download mode, which is no big deal and the only way to get out of it is to pull the battery. Which is what you did, so again, no big deal.

Now, what I would try is to leave it plugged in overnight, even though there are no signs of charging.
That may bring it back:)

does a Galaxy Note 2 Battery work in the SGS3? because my son has that phone and maybe i could use that to give it a much needed boost if it works. what's the protocol if the above doesn't fix my problem?

No, I don't think they are interchangeable.
How old is the battery?
If the above does not work, not sure what to do.

I have heard of other crazy, maybe not so crazy ideas of what folks do, including, but not limited to:
Plugging the phone into the wall charger and repeatedly unplugging and plugging it into the wall.
Putting the battery in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then trying to charge it (mind you, just the battery, not the phone in the freezer)
Pulling the battery whilst the charging cord in plugged into the wall and the phone and putting the battery back in, then out, then in.

Last of all, you may have to bring it to your carriers store and see if they can, for lack of a better term, "jump start" the charging process.

Hope that helps a little. :)

that's a lot of help, i was thinking maybe getting someone at work who has the same phone to charge there battery and give it to me to use in my phone to fix the other problem.

any ideas how to get it out of download mode? or will i just have to switch the device on?

If a phone battery runs completely flat (0v) it pretty much dies. If thats happened youre gona need a new one. Try one in store before buying if you can
