URGENT: Windows 7 Won't Recognize New Nexus 4

I had a Nexus 4 that worked perfectly with Windows 7. It had a backlight bleeding problem so I got a replacement.

Now this replacement won't be seen in Windows Explorer. When the Nexus 4 is plugged in, Device Manager updates and shows Android Composite ADB Interface. So the OS recognizes it perfectly, but it won't show up on Windows 7 while on MTP.

My Nexus 4 with the backlight problem however does work with MTP using the exact same cable in the exact same port.

Also, this new replacement device works on another computer, but not my main one. Can anyone help me make my computer see this new Nexus 4?

Disconnect it and go to Settings, Storage, tap the three dot menu and select USB settings. Set the phone to Camera (PTP). Now connect it to the PC and see if it is detected as a camera. Assuming it is, go back into settings and set it bck to MTP.

For some reason new devices sometimes need changing away from MTP then back before the PC will see them. I've had an N7 do this as well.

You need to completely uninstall the drivers you had with the old phone. Then plug your phone in and let the computer install them automatically.

Or use skipsoft's toolkit in my siggy.
