Help USB cable transfer?

acenase

Lurker
I just bought a USB cable but now how to I transfer MP3s, pictures, etc. from my computer to phone? I am using a Mac. I tried connecting with USB Mass storage and it gives me an error on my computer saying "The disk you entered is not readable by this computer"

Does anyone know how to transfer pictures and videos from the galaxy s2 to a mac with the USB cable successfully? what programs do I need? Kies did not work. ISyncer does not work. What a nightmare.

I am not sure if you are doing right. I don't have a Mac, but here's how I do it on the PC.

1) Go to Settings/Wireless & Network/USB Utilities
2) Tap the connect to USB icon and then only connect the USB cable to the computer/phone
3) Tap the icon that appears on the phone screen

You should then be able to access the phone like a harddisk from your PC.

Cheers

Hi, i used to be able to do this, but somehow when i now do this, my pc sees my phone as a camera and when i open it, it shows only empty files.

When i go to USB Utilities, all i see is USB mass storage and a button that says Connect storage to PC. When i tap on that, it shows an Attention saying USB is connected. Remove the cable.

I have no idea what to do and cant find out how to do this.

Please help?

thnx

You are suppose to connect the USB cable only after you tap the icon. If its connected, remove the cable, then tap the icon again and then only join the cable again.

If the cable wasn't connected in the first place, then maybe the USB port is dirty or something causing the phone to thing its connected. Try cleaning the port with a toothbrush.

Finally, try installing the latest Kies for the drivers. That way you can connect straight with the USB to get MTP connection. You should be able to explore the phone without using the USB mass storage option.

Hope that helps....
