Accessories usb cable

The usb cable that came with the inspire seems to be non-standard at least the micro-usb part of it. None of my other usb to microusb cables work with it. Whats' the best place to buy one in your experience?

I've had no issue using my BB micro USB cable to charge my Inspire or my Inspire micro USB to charge my BB, I also just tried another generic micro USB with my Inspire without any issues as well, so I'm not sure why you might be having an issue?

The cable is just a Blackberry data cable. You can get it anywhere (like Best Buy). I think I saw one on New Egg for like $4.

The cable i am trying it with came with a htc fuze, i also have similar other usb cables (i guess most of these usb -> micro usb cables should be standard.)

I bought 6 6' micro usb and 2 more 3' micro usb cables from monoprice.com. Total with shipping came to about $15 and they all work just fine.

my motorola/samsung cables work fine.

The htc fuze is different, the usb port on the inspire is like rounded on bottom, flat on top also very thin looking but the fuze port is thicker almost like a rectangle shape with one of the sides slightly curved. so the fuze usb cable wont fit.

(and yes i just so happen to have a fuze laying around to take a pic of its usb port)

The Inspire is a Micro USB. There is also a Mini USB standard. That may be the confusion here. The Micro is smaller than the mini, and it is more flat.

There are actually 2 types of micro USB plugs - a & b. The Inspire's is micro-b and any micro-b USB cable should work for charging. I found out, however, that HTC's micro-b USB cable is the only one that works with the internet pass-through function of the Inspire. You'd think that micro-b is standard but I can't get internet pass-through to work with my Nokia micro-b USB cable.

Is internet pass-through same as usb tethering?

There are pin config problems on some that are sold from AT&T. Kind of like the Motorola Razr issues we had a few years ago. They work to charge but will NOT allow data transfer. I have found that the best ones are the cheapest ones on ebay. I ordered quite a few of them so I can data link to multiple computers and chargers with out toting them around.
