Help USB Car Charger Recomendation?

I never watched the wattage either but bought cheap ones off eBay for under $1 shipped. Their nice - small and come in various colors but I don't think they are powerful enough. Battery level still drops when I am using it to watch videos on 4g.

I'll listen in bc I'd like to know if there are better chargers available.

The official charger can handle 5v@1A. The one you linked to does 5v@1A on each port so it should be just as fast as the wall charger. Griffin is a good brand so I would trust that rating. Stay away from knock offs, they usually falsely advertise a higher current than they can actually provide, and are made with low quality parts. Usually this just means slow charging but depending on how poor the quality is a failure could result in an unregulated 12v going to your phone and destroying it when the charger fails. Higher wattage is always better, the phone only draws what it needs, so if you go higher that just leaves room for other devices, and puts less stress on the charger so it will last longer.

We need a load tester for these phone chargers. Then somebody to do a review of them. Or has this already been done and if so does anybody have a link?

Furthermore I would not trust all phone charging circuits to only take what they need. Perhaps only buying 1 amp or at most 1.5 amp chargers is wiser than getting 3 amp monster chargers.

Check reviews for the cheap chargers although they may claim 1A some don't follow the USB spec. for charging and will only charge at .5 A.

Basically, the 2 middle pins need to below a certain resistance (basically shorted) for the phone to recognize it as a charger and not a USB data cable.

I actually bought the charger you linked and it works well for me.
