Help usb charging

hey all,

i'm really new to android and i just switched to an atrix from an iphone 3gs. can someone tell me why my phone won't USB charge when i plug it into a computer?

My family recently got 4 new phones and they are all USB-based. The voltage on each of the adaptor is either 5 or 5.1V, but the amperage rating varies. Does anyone know whether I can use them interchangably?

FYI, you don't need to load drivers just for charging - basically it's just a physical connection to the 5v USB power line (no data or anything).

That's why you can plug into a USB port on anything and charge (the ports on a PS3, an AC/USB adapter, etc.)

I think the Atrix might pull a pretty stout amount of current - I noted on this little surge/USB device we used to charge my Captivate and the iP4, and with the Atrix connected the power flickers (simply went directly to the outlet).

Maybe the USB port on your machine is underpowered a bit.
