If i turn off usb debbuging . What does that do , would it effect my phone in any way . Im rooted with droidwall on d mini motion . What are the side affects of having this off if theres any . Also what are the benefits of having it on while not connected if any ? I cannot charge my phone while in usb debuging mode with my portable charger so i want to see if i can tick it off while connected to usb charger .

Thanks bro , was also reading about how its like leaving your door open to anyone who has acces to your phone since it bypasses your lockscreen if connected to a comp.

I leavd mine on since i am always screwing around and may brick my phone.but i have an,that i can lock or wipe my by texting it if i lose it

What exactly are you doing that might brick your phone ? I ticked it off since my portable charger would not charge anything , i googled portable charger not charging phone and came across a trouble shooting guide . Said that leaving it on causes the charger not to do anything . Its odd cause before i had no problem charging while it was ticked on . Maybe it has to do with charging it using the wall socket . I use to plug it in to my xbox usb port and would funtion properly . Since its gone had no other choice but to plug it into a wall socket , now on every phone i plug it into " currently only have 2 (m835/and ms770) it will not charge untill i have usb debug off .

I am constantly changing system settings and things i dont totally know about. Trying to modify my phone. I am afraid i might forgot to turn it on. So i leave it on as a precaution

My phone seems to charge fine debug has been on since i,bought the phone

O ok , sounds like too much work for me since one little error = unbrick guide . Its a pain since i font own a pc . It charges fine on stock wall charger , but as soon as i plug it into my portable powerbar charger it wont recognize/charge it at all . Untill usb debug is off . Do you use a portable charger as well , and if so which/what one/brand is it ?

Yeah i use wall charger lg and htc samsung
12 volt cigarette adapters belkin dont know the other
And also my laptop never had an issue

Only problems ever occured was dirty contacts or loose connections

Kool , have you noticed any difference in charge time ? I get about 10 percent charge in 2 to 3 minutes with my portable charger . Might be cooking it .

Chargers can havd different output levels displayed as ma milliamps or amps
500 ma is half amp
So 900ma charges faster than 500 ma

The wall charger that came with the phone is 1.2 amps or about 1200 ma
In general you want to slow charge more often to preserve the length if battery life. But these battery are designed well and can take a beating.
I am always using my phone on the go and cant set it down when charging so i usually charge at a rate if
700ma 900ma or 1.2amp
I woukd not recomend much more than 1.2
So look at your chargef for the output and see the level

I have no clue. I have read there is a quickcharge script or something that allows more current when charging. I dont know how that works or we have that activated on our phone. I saw some of it while browsing system files. Our phone has many features built into it that are not allowed to function.

Yea i read about that . Its something that makes no sence to me though , since the battery dies just as fast as it charges .

That doesnt seem to be true on my phone. I am always (on the go) above i posted a picture of a small 12 volt battery keep in mybackpack. I am always using even when i am charging. I never let my battery completly die. The battery in my samsung admire is still good even though i never shut the phond off. Yiu could say i am an outdoors person so my phone is my xbox tivo laptop data storage and sometimes its a phone too.
Every now and then i purposely run the battery down to about 5 percent and let it charge to 100 using a 500 ma charger.(slow charge)

In the summer and its hot and i am outside using the phone heavily i take the back cover off to get more air over the battery.
I have a phone protecter case. I cut out a small square out of the phone case where the battery is. So the rubber of the case doesnt retain the geat.
Sometimes at mcdonalds i am sitting there eating and downloading 5 movies or something i put ice in a bag then lay my phone on the ice to keep ciok.

O ok , might just be my phone then . I had gotten it new when that 55 unlimited plan came out . I installed beats audio , yes im one of the few noobs to do that . It left me at a black screen , it use to last me all day . Took it to the store and got it replaced a week later . Maybe i got a defective phone that got returned .

Hey rhino889a can you tell me whats the voltage rating on the stock motion wall charger ? Thanks in advance

Honestly I don't see why your phone won't charge if its on usb debugging. I've never had that problem on my Admire or Motion. I always leave it on and I do most of my charging from the usb on my pc. This Motion charges very quickly even when I'm on the pc's usb slow connector, it charges at half power 500mah but doesn't take nearly as long as the Admire used to take.

I also use one or the other charge cords with no problems.

Dont worry. Yes the battery is in the mid 3 volt range.but standard chargiing is usually 5 volts. Out of maybe 30 chargers i have everhad only one was less at 4.7 volts.

Sorry for that post , it was my mistage . Even though i did see the post about troubleshooting by turning off usb debug solved the not charging problem for some users . It was my mistake , i tried it again . Unfortunately it wasent the issue . The issue was a cable , the extension cable to connect any usb to the portable charger might be defective or might have some dirt inside it causing it to malfunction . I connected the usb that came with the portable charger directly to the phone . It worked flawlessly , i connected the other cable the one malfunctioning and figured out that by moving it caused it to go back and forth from charging to doing nothing . Sorry guys .

thats what i thought i mentioned bad connection but should have elaborated. i often use isopropyl alcohol or soap to clean my battery ports and cable connectors
fingernail polish works so does tequila and vodka even water just to clean the contacts,
i live outside so i get things dirty and dirt does build up in there, you may even get metal particles from dirt, and slight metal dust from constant plug and unplug.

there is a conductive jelly lube they use in the automotive industry for plugs and stuff i was thinking of using on my battery port since i am always plugging and unpluggin, far far more than any normal user

also, the end of the charger cable, the metal part that plugs into the phone,i have ever so slightly pinched or crimped it to keep it tight. sometimes movement or wear stretches it and stops a perfect connection

i have even actually bit the end of the usb cable just barely barely that way it stays connected and doesnt wiggle and disconnect
