Help USB Debugging/Screen Capture

I've lost the original USB cord that came with the phone, but I have another USB from my old Android phone that I use. The problem is, is that my PC won't recognize the phone with the old USB cord for some reason. It just charges the phone and no little USB icon shows up in the notification bar.

I'm trying to take some screen captures of my phone and I have the Android SDK tools and am going to use the DDMS to do the capture. But since the PC won't recognize the phone, I'm unable to do it.

My question is, what is a way that I can take some screen captures without the USB? BTW, I DO NOT have a rooted phone.

Thanks for any help offered!

Try using some of the screen capture apps off the market, yes even if you dont have root some of them work on non rooted phones.
