Help USB Debugging

Something (I guess some app I'm using) keeps turning on USB Debugging in the Developer Options. I keep turning it off and I get an occasional warning that it's been turned back on. Problem is, I use a lot of different apps and have no idea which one it might be. Any suggestions which app(s) might do that? Or, might it be something else?
Thanks.

Hey Jen :).

If you go into Settings -> Developer options, is the "On" toggle (for Developer options) in the on/enabled position?

The USB debugging switch/setting is later/farther down in the list, but if you've got Developer options turned off, that should also disabled USB debugging.

Also, is your device rooted? It actually should be very difficult (if not impossible) for an app to enable USB debugging on a non-rooted device...

Scary...thanks for the quick reply. No, I'm not rooted. And, I've always set the main Developer Options toggle to "off" which seems to turn all options off. But when I find the USB Debugging switch turned on the main switch has been turned back on as well.

Hmm, that is indeed odd... ...

If you're not rooted, then the only thing I can think of would be something that your stock ROM is doing--which is very odd and wrong, IMO, since enabling USB debugging, while very useful from a variety of aspects (debugging, recovery options, etc.) is kind of a security risk.

You might be able to diagnose this by putting your device in safe mode, turning off USB debugging, and then launching your various apps one at a time and checking to see if USB debugging has been re-enabled.

I would start with the "system" apps--i.e., not any that you downloaded from the Play Store. Do you have an LG G3-specific apps (i.e., ones that are LG branded)?

Scary...Thanks again. I have a lot of apps, but like your suggestion of starting testing with system and LG- specific apps first. That will certainly simplify things. I'll report back asap.

Sorry for the delay in responding this time, but it took a while to run through all (most of ) the apps. Still couldn't find anything that requested permissions for USB Debugging. I also uninstalled a couple of apps that looked like possible culprits, but no luck. HOWEVER, I received an Android system update last week, installed it, and haven't had the problem since. It may be a bit early to tell for sure, but its at least encouraging. Thanks again for your help.
