Help usb drive

I was having the same problem with the phone not displaying the usb notification. I tried all the suggestions above and none worked except the one from AndroidSPCS - I tried a different micro usb cable and the USB notification immediately came up. Who'd have thought it would have been hardware. The other cable worked fine for charging, just not for mounting.

There are no additional drivers necessary to access the mass storage feature of your handset, as you PC will recognize your phone as a mass storage device. Windows PC's are preloaded with these drivers.
There is one setting within your device that must be set correctly to ensure that your PC can connect to your device correctly.
From main Screen press menu>Select Settings>Select Applications>Select Development> uncheck all boxes>Return to Home screen using back arrow>Connect USB cable.
For a successful connection of the removable storage card, follow these steps to complete this:
Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable> A USB icon in you device notification bar will appear> Bring down the notification bar by swiping finger from top of screen to bottom> Tap the USB connection notification> A popup window will appear on the home screen> Press Mount> Your PC will display a removable drive in Windows Explorer.
Files can then be dragged and dropped between your device and PC.

FYI... same here... I bought some micro usb cables from ebay when I got the phone... the USB notification didn't pop up on the phone until I used the cable that came with the phone.

At first, I didn't see any option under the notification bar on the phone to mount the SD card to the computer. What I ended up doing is leaving it connected to the computer and restarted the phone. When it turned back on, the option in the notification area of the phone was available and I was able to mount it.

I had the same problem i could not get it to work no matter what i did .. I called sprint they sent me a new moment and bam worked right away the rep told me moments had that problem alot !!!!!!so call in and get new one

This worked for me when I first got my phone, thanks! Then I got my Moment updated (firmware 2.1-update 1) at the Sprint store. Now the USB icon in the device notification bar does not appear. I don't think it's the cable, it worked before. I tried clearing the device manager, but I may not have done that right...
I dunno, just posting in case others have the same problem after an update. I'll try gsxr600wheelin's method maybe.

If phone wont mount to computer and there is no usb notification: go to menu, settings applications, development, usb debugging

Not sure if anyone has found this:

Is The SPH-M900 (Moment) Compatible With Samsung PC Studio?

"Samsung's PC Studio software will strictly be used as an upgrade tool. Contact management, such as transferring and/or updating phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and calendar events, will not be supported within PC Studio."

Forgive me but why would anyone want to use PC Studio for contact transfers and such? While we're at it, why would any one use any sort of backup program for this? All of that is on your Google account...log in and they magically appear.

Back up text messages and call records? Ok...maybe. I can see --some-- desire to do that. Personally I consider reformatting a chance to start all new with those records. (text memory IS limited, and the only reason mine fills up is lack of the need to hide anything)

Just let me know if I'm missing the point.

okay, so im hoping someone can help solve the bunch of problems im having, kinda like a 5 part question so bare with me......first off, my main goal is to have my t-mobile vibrant sgh-t959 firmware 2.1-update1 rooted and tethering. so first off, yesterday when id plug my phone via usb to my windows 7 hp laptop . my computer would reconize it and i could view files, once i installed kies and before i realize kies could not work with the vibrant. i deleted kies, blah blah blah point is....now i think im missing the usb drivers needed to reconize my phone... does anyone know where to get those from? because this is so long, ill wait on the other 4 parts

Hi all,
I came across a simple solution to solve this and it is a no brainer. Just download PDANet.exe from the internet.

You can find it here or any other source you can search.
Download PdaNet

When you run this program it loads all the drivers you need for USB and PDA device connectivity and when you connect your Andriod phone, it installs the drivers it needs for connectivity.

I tried many solutions, none of them worked, but this gave me the break. Now I can connect my Galaxy phone to my PC.

Happy connectivity!
