Help Usb drive

Drakon

Newbie
Any one able to connect the Shift to their pc as a usb drive, or do we have to wait for the HTC sync update for our phones in order for it to work?

If you pull down your notification bar, you ought be able to select the usb connection and choose mounting as a disk drive.

Also double check the cable, charging and data cables look alike, but only a data cable provides full functionality.

I think neither one of us sleeps enough :)

and i went through all those steps the Evo connects just fine, but it wont read my Shift at all, using the original cable that came in the box. so i thought it might be because of HTC not having it updated yet to run with HTC sync.

I'll try it again.

Roger that, night owl. :)

Not knowing if they cheaped out on the cable or if you got that one lemon cable, maybe make sure with the same cable that works with the Evo.

It ought not matter about your version of PC Sync (or not) running on your PC, but the PC Sync process has to be running on the phone for it to work as a usb drive - go figure.

If everything seems okey dokey, pull the battery for 60 seconds, retry.

There is only one cable that ships with the Shift. It doubles as a wall charger and data cable.
