Root USB Flash Ram

I would like to read a USB flash ram dongle with my Thunderbolt. This would add convenience in uploading photos to the cloud, taken with my DSLR when on vacation.

Has anyone rooted their Thunderbolt to add this feature?

I'm sorry....a what? USB flash ram dongle? What on Earth is that?

If you mean a memory stick (a.k.a nonvolatile flash memory that interfaces with the PC via USB), then you cannot. Well..you can, but you have to hack in the USB host drivers, and conisdering that you have to ask, I am guessing you cannot do that. A dev may have already done it, but I do not remember seeing it, at least not for the TB.

Despite the semantics, this is what I crave. I know it has been done for other devices. I am wondering if it has been done for the Thunderbolt.

This should be a feature of the Android OS in stock form.

Ok. When you threw the word ram in there that is what confused me.

Anyway, I am sure it can be done for the TB. the problem is you have to find someone with both the skill and the time and the urge to even do it. I would suggest posting at xda to see if anyone is interested.

I have discovered that this feature is availible for the Samsun Galaxy S2. Its called USB on the go and might be availible for other phones, maybe even the Thunderbolt if rooted.

This feature is a must have and if I find a Verizone phone that supports it I'll drop that Thunderbolt faster than a red hot penny.
