USB Jig entering factory mode?

i finally decided to root my S2, upon trying to remove the yellow ! and reset the counter i plugged in my usb jig, the phone goes into download and says in red letters at the top "FACTORY MODE" it does not remove the yellow ! or reset the counter. did i do something wrong?

This is not my video, but this is what is happening to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDJDzgB1L7Q

thank you in advance for any help and advice

I think the firmware you used has the newer bootloader built in, the newer one does not work with the jig . Where did u get the firmware from?

I guess you need to flash an old bootloader to be able to use jig. Same happened to me. You need bootloader 2.3.4.
Hope it helps!

Just out of curiousity, what is the difference in an old and new bootloader? will it matter that i have boot loader 2.3.4 while using 2.3.5?

just to make sure ive got this right: reading through [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH, KI, KJ, KK1/2/5, KL1/2/3, LA2,4 Download - xda-developers

i found this:
If you've already flashed a full package from elsewhere or updated using KIES and cannot reset your binary counter using the Jig just flash this package in the PDA or Bootloader section of Odin to replace the bootloaders and then you can reset the counter: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Here are the new bootloader tarball if you want to flash them back after resetting your binary counter: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

so i flash the old one, use the usb then put the new one back on? if i flash a new kernel or rom after i put the new bootloader back on, the counter will go on, but im guessing the jig will not work again?

You can download the old bootloader from here: SGS2 Old Bootloader (2.3.4).tar

And, using Odin with option PDA or Bootloader (is the same), you replace your bootloader with this one and then you can use Jig.

Then, you turn off your phone, wait a couple of seconds, connect Jig and you will see the phone turning on again with the counter = 0 and without the yellow triangle.

That's it. Don't install your bootloader again. Jig doesn't work with bootloader 2.3.5 or newer. Don't worry because you are only replacing the bootloader no the kernel or ROM.

For some reason I don't have signal and I have an unknown base band on the 2.3.4 boot loader, I used my jig then patched the 2.3.5 boot loader and its back to normal

So I don't know if I did some thing wrong, but I fixed it. I've backed up my efs, nandroid and titanium now, so all done hopefully.

Hey guys,

I have a S2 with the firmware 2.3.6 on it. I tried to root it and then install the CWM using Odin. However, After the successful installation, it didn't open the CWM menu and therefore it would just go back to download mode. However, I tried another time and Odin got stuck so I had to close it, which resulted in the black screen of death to appear.

Today I got a USB JIG and I tried to use to to go back to download mode but IT DOESN'T WORK. I turn off the phone, remove the battery for sometime, plug it back in and plug the USB JIG in and I still see the BSOD!

Please help me, I'm really scared! :(
