Help USB Mass Storage help (issues connecting with devices? )

members here are trying to offer you assistance. if you doubt its the cable and you refuse to try another one or another computer, what do YOU think the issue is?

it is absolutely possible its the cable as I have seen it discussed over many forums for years. may not be in your case but it has been an issue.

take the phone into the shop and have them smoke it over or do a factory reset. there is not much people over the internet can do to help. since its less than a month, if they have a grace period, just return the phone and get a new one.

was the phone bought used? is it rooted? whats the carrier are you using?

if all you want to do is transfer files to and fro, there are apps in the store that allow you to do that wirelessly. you can also use BT.

No, the phone is brand new, I bought it from Vodafone.

Talking about apps, can you please name some that will help me to transfer music from my PC to my phone ?

Why can't anyone give me a reason for my HTC one not connecting to my PS3? I don't care about PC issues I want to hook to my PS3!!!!! Why won't it recognize my HTC one????

My bad - as you don't have another computer, I was asking what version is your PC operating system.

Maybe it's a known version issue and we can point you at drivers or something.

But marc is right - you can always challenge them to try it at a store and that can help troubleshooting.

There are a number of file sharing/syncing apps. If you're using iTunes, check out iSyncr in the Play Store.

Really though, the easiest way is to just use Airdroid if you're OK with drag and drop.

And Airdroid works like the name sounds - transfer music, pictures and more without cabling hassles.

How exactly?

If you want to use the PS3 controller with your One, you need an OTG cable.

If you want to stream content from your One to the PS3, you can do that wirelessly, the One will be a DLNA server because the PS3 is a DLNA player.

If you want to cable them together and use the One as mass storage, so far as I know, you can't.

The Jellybean spec excludes usb mass storage protocol (UMS) and the One complies with the spec.

It only supports Media Transport Protocol from Microsoft, aka MTP.

The PS3 wants UMS.

I haven't tried it with my One, but on my Evo3D, you had to install the HTCSync program on the PC, so it would install the drivers to allow Windows to see it. Might that be the problem this person is having? Granted, it is hard to tell from the little description given. Just something I thought of.

Unless you have an older Windows.

I would have posted this sooner but I just found it.

How do I install the MTP drivers for Windows XP? - Microsoft Community

The 3D was different, UMS only - HTC Sync was providing UMS drivers.

I couldn't remember. I just remember having a bunch of problems getting Windows to recognize my phone on my old Evo3D.

Also, I misspoke earlier. I said I hadn't connected my One to my PC, but I must have, because I have about 6 GB of music that I copied to it. :) I just plugged it in and it worked. It was so simple, that I obviously forgot that I did it. :)

In that case, the only thing I can think of is agree that the cable is probably bad. I suppose the actual MicroUSB port on the phone could be loose. Or just a generally jacked up install of Windows.

I'm still having problems connecting my HTC one to my PS3 it simply will not recognize my phone and it makes me so mad!! And no imt not using a PlayStation controller to connect to my phone! All I want to do is put pics, vids and music on my PlayStation from my HTC one!!!!!

Maybe the trouble can end.

As I mentioned, you can view them via wifi thanks to DLNA.

You cannot transfer them by USB cable.

But it's probably really easy to do what you want - next time, take it easy, and just answer so we can help.

Put this on your One -

Check out "WebDAV Server"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.webdavserver

It'll give you the full http address you need.

Pay attention to the settings.

Then go from here -

I'm sure that you'll have that sorted in no time.

PS - you can probably also do it with AirDroid on your One.

Pick whichever is easier.

I know your One has similar to Skifta built in, but I don't have a One, so I can't give directions.

Check your manual for wireless media sharing or DLNA, no promises but maybe it won't glitch.

But I've heard that Skifta seems best with the PS3.

Hello All,

Recently my HTC one has been unable to connect to my PC so I can transfer music and videos onto the internal memory.

When I connect the USB to my computer, the USB connected message pops up on the phone but nothing comes up on my computer until I get a message saying "USB Device not Recognised". The computer's troubleshooting guide just says to reconnect the device and if it doesn't work, replace the device. It was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
