Root USB Mass Storage not working on CM 7.0.2?

Is anyone else not able to get USB Mass Storage to turn on, on CM 7.0.2? When I connect the cable to my laptop, the USB Debugging message comes on, on the notification bar, but no USB Mass Storage option shows up to let me turn it on.

I tried turning off the USB debugging, also ran fix permissions in rom manager, and rebooted. Nothing has fixed it yet.

I'm using Chevy's 1.1Ghz LV Kernel.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Joe

I am having a similar issue, I am using Pete's latest Gingerbread ROM. I also installed Chevy ULV 1GHz Kernel, I am starting to wonder if it is the kernel because it worked before I did that......I don't get the pull down in the notification area to turn on USB mass Storage as well.

Others are suggesting it's the kernel. The stock CM kernel and Deprimed kernel seem to work ok others say. I haven't tried either yet.

whee can I find the deprimed kernel? I just took Chevy's off of Rom manager because it was easier.....

Quickest and easiest would be just to reflash the ROM.

Otherwise, if you do an internet search for it, I'm sure you'll find it on the Cyanogen Forums site.

Easiest thing to do is flash one of Prime's kernels. It is a fact that expecially with any CM7.x.x rom, USB mass storage will stop working in your notification bar unless you stick with stock or prime's kernels. Prime has his kernel thread(s) over at DF within the CM custom rom section.

good luck

I had this same issue. It was driving me crazy. I installed cm7 Nightly 113 on my phone and the mass storage was working but stopped. I toggled USB Debugging, updated to 119, no go. I updated to 120 still no go. I installed the deprimed kernel and nothing seemed to fix the issue. I finally found a fix that worked.

Go to Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - SD Card

Look for any apps with a check boxes and move them from the sd card to the phone.

Reboot. :)

Hope that helps.
