Help usb memory stick

VERY INTERRRRESTING... I tried to search USB MEMORY STICK on the home page of this forum and got the message: nothing found.
THEN ... I tried to start this thread titled: USB MEMORY STICK... and several "similar threads" pop-up!!!! How come they did not pop-up in the SEARCH section???
OK...OK... what I'm looking for: I bought a female-to-female USB connector to use with this GN2 recharging cable. For some reason this generic connector does not work.
1. Do I need some special drivers in order to use a memory stick?
2. I saw a YOUTUBE video which uses the OTG (on the go) adapter which allows memory sticks to be used... is this the only one that will work on the GN2 ??

Yes, you need to use a USB OTG cable/adapter to use the USB Stick. The reason is that the regular data/sync cable is missing a soldered wire connection that allows power to run to the peripheral attached. A peripheral (such as a keyboard, USB stick, mouse, etc) requires power to run.

There are limitations to it. It can only be used with peripherals with low power requirements. If you try to attach something requiring more power than what the device can provide with USB OTG, it will not work and a warning will appear. An example of this is an external hard drive. It requires an additional external power source in order to work with USB OTG.

THANKS - THANKS - THANKS, NeoG... I just now got the OTG cable (had to go to three different computer shops, here in Prague) ...
It works just fine... I appreciate your help
