Root USB not recognized post root

I rooted my phone today. Things seemed to go okay. Now, I realized I saw a bubble at the bottom of my windows screen telling me that the phone was not recognized (this happened during the 1.0 downgrade). I ignored it but now that I went back to my phone, I noticed it no longer is recognized by the computer. I cannot mount my SD card or anything, my phone doesnt exist when connected to the computer. It still charges while plugged in. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm completely stuck here. Do I need to have HTC sync installed or not? I did an install and saw that it consists of 3 apps (on the pc): the HTC sync itself, the driver installer and the BMP app. Whether I had them installed or not didn't seem to make any difference.

When I connect the desire to the laptop (w7) it sometimes asks for data connection but most times it doesn't. In both cases I get the notification that the USB device is not recognized.

And what settings are important that I should check?

Thanks for any advise!!

This is the HTC Thunderbolt forum, not the HTC Desire. I have linked the Desire forum for you HERE. If you start a new thread over there with your question you will have more people that are able to help you.

Hope this helps
