i have just installed VanllaEclair 5.0 on my hero, and its great, the only thing that annoys me, is when i plug in or unplug my usb cable from my pc, it makes the notification noise, which gets annoying, i have unchecked SD card notifications, but it hasnt worked, please help..

I don't know about custom ROMs etc. - mine is standard. However, I just use the USB settings screen (pull down the notification screen and select the USB symbol) to set it to 'Charge only' and only change it to 'HTC sync' when I actually want to sync. I then set it back again after I have sync'ed. When you set the USB to 'HTC sync' it automatically starts USB debugging, so that is why you get the notification sound.
