Help USB Notification

As of yet i am still unable to get the Gio Connected to the PC, I don't get any notification of USB connected on the Phone, I have tried both debug checked and unchecked. I have tried 3 computers and 3 cables (2 Win7 pro 64 and 1 win 7 pro 32). BT drivers dont do anything either. I have tried multiple versions for Kies. I have tried assigning drivers manually, i have tried to take the batery out while it is pluged into usb, i have tried putting the phone into dl mode with vol down, ok, and power button= just sat there over night!
I have even installed the android developlment kit, all the samsung options with it. Nothing has worked yet, i have looked at any at least 200 threads that say USB, Mount, or not recognized. What can i do now?
I am at a loss

So what i am searching for now is some kind of utility that i might be able to root the phone, so that i may change the usb settings ussing the codes from this page Samsung Mobile Code - www.SamFirmware.com

or some codes that anyone might have for a terminal.

A.)tried 3 cables of different manufacturers
B.)Tried to install drivers manually repeatedly
C.)The option flashes for one second and disappears suddenly.
D.)Tried to hire hitmen to finish the annoying samsung support.(Heavy sarcasm):D

Join the club .Same thing happened to me when I first got my 551.
The only method which worked for me was ,install KIES/USBdrivers right after a fresh Win 7 install.(before video drivers /.net 4 install) dont ask me why .I have no idea.
Anyway USB Mass storage is correctly detected on Linux/Vista (Yeah its a windows 7 only problem)

You dont need to use root for using samsung codes btw.
 
You wouldn't believe me but i did do a fresh install but i did all the updates then installed kies, i guess i will go try the other way around now. Wish me luck.
 
It's a trial and error method .Best of luck !!!. :)
It's a hardware problem if Mass storage device doesnt get detected in Linux(OpenSuse for me)
What I did ,right after fresh install ,plugged the phone in USB port .
The Hardware detection automatically installed drivers(7 is supposed to do that) and KIES could be installed and FINALLY I got an option which said UMS or KIES.

32bit: No luck, tried that before.

Factory reset i did try but that was with the phone menu, so let me try the code!

One other thing i need to find out is if the menu that other folks have on there phone, Is there a Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > USB Settings > Select 'Mass Storage' option.

This came from the Samsung FAQ's i do not have these menus, no "Phone Settings" no USB settings.

Is it supposed to be different?
 
Well did the factory reset with the code, and still no luck.

Emailed Samsung for the second time. First time i was told to call Samsung US, Samsung US said that the phone is not available in the US yet so contact Hong Kong, WTF, i got to get on a plane to figure this one out. There has to be a samsung rep in the area right?

Edit:
My only other thought after all of this is, does the region have anything to do with it, Hong Kong Phone American Operating system. Like DVD region Code?

I am curious, then how do i use some of the codes? (still learning)

Yes and No partly .The firmware has 4 files usually .The CSC file is the region specific file .usually Asian and European are cross compatible.
However US and Latin America have Carrier specific files.So these are important for 3G settings and so.

Depends on situation .Check samfirmware .com
