Help USB OTG not mounting on tablet

Hello Guys
I have recently got a otg usb lead for my tab 2. Whenever i try to plug any usb drive in i just get a notification saying "USB device connected"
Nothing else happens, i have rotted my tab and no apps help!
Is it the jelly bean 4.1.1 software?

Use a file manager and look for someting like USB storage.

BTW, with ES File Manager tap on Local and then on USB ... voila :)
