I have an ELM327 based USB OBDII scanner. Does this work with the Galaxy Tab with the USB OTG adaptor? If so, are there any apps that work this way or is everything only for Bluetooth?
I've not tried any USB OBD-2 interfaces. I use Torque Pro and SoloStorm on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3113) with the KiWi BT OBD-2 adapter in my 84 Civic and 98 Civic. I have the USB OTG adapter for the tablet, but I rather run power to it while racing so BT was the better connection to me.
Thank you both. I've been going back and forth between a USB OTG adaptor or a Bluetooth OBDII reader on Amazon. Both are about the same price, but I already have a USB OBDII adaptor but the laptop has a fried motherboard and I'd probably get more use if I get the OTG adaptor.
Screech has a good point, unless the USB/OTG device can charge your tablet, I'd not use it. Not much battery life when running programs and constantly refreshing the screen.
