USB/SD Card adapter

[Android Question]

I have bought a USB/SD Card adapter which my tab recognises when I insert it but when I then insert a USB stick into the adapter I can't seem to find the files (in this case photos) on the stick. Where do I look? I am a novice this may be a really stupid question!

there is an app named stick mount that has worked on a lot of hardware. it can be found on the play store

I believe the Stick Mount app requires you to be rooted, however .

Stick Mount will make the USB device available at "/sdcard/usbStorage/xxxx/", but I'm not sure if a stock (unrooted) device will do the same.
