Help USB Tether - No Internet Access

I'm unrooted, trying to use the built-in USB tether option that comes up as a choice when plugging your phone in via USB. I have HTC Sync installed on my PC but for some reason the phone is telling me it cannot find it on my PC.

When I select USB Tether it installs the drivers on the PC and the HTC network appears in my Network Connections. It's connected and everything but it doesn't have internet access. Could it be because I'm not subscribed to Sprint Hotspot or is there another reason?

my phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace, and I have the same problem.

The Built in USB tethering is a pay subscription service you need to have activated on your Sprint Account.
