Help USB Tethering Mac

I use the mobile hotspot to connect my mac to my Captivate but I think I could get a lot faster speeds it I use the USB tethering. How do i set this up on a Mac. It asked for Phone number account name and a password. I am rooted as well

Hi Kyle. I was in the same position as you a couple months ago. I discovered, while making my way around all of the anti-Apple propaganda, a little app called "EasyTether." I would take a look into that. I used it while I was out of town for a bit. I can't remember the process, but I remembered it did provide speeds faster than the built mobile hotspot.
