USB Wireless Ethernet bridge?

I currently connect my Windows netbook to the Internet using a USB wireless dongle and external Yagi antenna. I also have a Belkin wireless router connected via Ethernet. I then configure the wireless Internet connection to be shared so that the Belkin acts as a wifi hotspot in my house.

My question is can I use an Android tablet in the same way?

Where does the tablet fit in? Do you want it to replace the netbook, or are you trying to use it as a WiFi hotspot?
