Help USB won't connect to PC

It just doesn't show up as a disk drive, but if I move the cable, I get the windows sound to say something's plugged in, then I move slightly, and it's gone again. Really frustrating, I just want to copy some music and pictures. Will HTC send me a new cable? as this one seems rubbish.

Micro USB cables are ten a penny. And it could be the connector on your PC from the description you give.

I could probably pick up a cheap replacement on ebay then. I've tried it with other USB ports.
