Hi all,

Received the Commando less than a week ago and it is my first smart phone. Been reading alot and going to the VZW smart phone class for bumb a--es tommorrow. Would like to retire the iPod and add a 32GB card to this device. Have read about issues with using Class 10 speed cards with other Androids and VZ is unable to give me info about this. They only suggested I buy their SanDisk 32GB for $150  which I believe it is class 2 or 4, but they didn't really know. On the XDA Developers forum I read something about a program to anticipate or something, but those folks are way beyond my knowlege and vocabulary about smart phones . Will this phone even be able to utilize a Class 10 card for speed with it's hardware and software configuation?

So any first hand advice here with this device would be helpful please. Will add that the battery issues people have disscussed are not a problem for me after a 10 Hr shift, but I'm not what you would call a heavy user.

Thanks for helping an old guy learning new stuff,

P.S. Will post this on other forum as well.

its not an SLR lol I dont think the phone needs the supper fast speed class, but should work, but I dont think that you will see a difrence from the class 2 and class on your phone.

Id just buy one from a place with a good return policy and test it out.

Update...

My Commando came with a SanDisk 8GB CL4 card that scored 5.8 MB/s Write and 15.4 MB/s Read using SD Tools.
Purchased the Lexar 32GB CL10 and formatted in phone to rid included capware. Ran same test with scores of 10.7 MB/s and 23.5 MB/s.

No problems to report and everything works as advertised. Paid $86.57 retail, comes with USB adapter and has a 5 year warranty. ;)

Did you notice the camera working any fast with a faster card in there? My phone seems to move super slow when taking and looking at pictures for being a newer phone.

Thanks.
