Help Use hangouts in extreme power saver?

So quick question, while extreme power saver mode is on, is there a way to change the default messaging app from the stock SMS app to, let's say, hangouts or any other SMS app?

I'd say no since eps is about saving battery life and non stock apps tend to take up more cpu power to coordinate with more processes. But I have no use for eps so ymmv.

You can use sense toolbox to put any apps you want in eps
