Its called tethering, and it'll be in your settings under "wireless and networks" it shouldn't be a problem to make it work unless your provider, Orange for one have dissabled it.

A PC doesn't have internet! You either get internet from WIFI, and the original OP says he doesn't want that, or dial up, and that's slow slow it quicker through the phone. Ethernet, not possible.

I was wondering if there is a way to connect the phone to the pc via usb cable, and in this way to access the internet, maybe with the HTC Sync or another program or application.

YES there is, its in my first answer, in settings under wireless and networks you'll find USB tethering, just enable it.
pdanet in the market is the only way I know of, didn't think you could do it just by enabling a setting????

diti87, your posts are not very clear so people are getting confused.
1) You have internet connection through your phone. Your computer does not have internet. You want to connect the phone to the computer, and have the computer use the internet through the phone. Internet > Phone > Computer (This is called tethering. See InfernalByte's post above.)
2) You have a wired internet connection to your PC. There is no wireless. You want to connect your phone to the PC and share the internet connection. Internet > Computer > Phone (This is called reverse-tethering.)
I don't believe #2 is possible. I've tried to find a way myself, and I've been unsuccessful.

What I am asking is the number 2. Someone said that it is an application in the market. Does this app make possible what I am searching?

No. There is no way as far as I know to create an ethernet connection (ie assign an IP address) to a something using a direct USB connection.
You *might* be able to via Bluetooth with the right software as that, at least does assign an IP address to connected devices.
Edit: found this - http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
It apparently only works for rooted devices, but you may be able to temproot using VISIONary and get it working. If course, this assumes you have Bluetooth available...
here is a link that talks about this matter Mycila Blog: Reverse USB Tethering with Android 2.2 , i found this on another thread, havent tried it yet though , dont want to mess with the phone by rooting and all, i think google should start thinking abt this feature , because wifi is quite rare in my country and a bit expensive, on the other hand i have an adsl modem with ethernet cable connected to my pc. it gives me unlimited fast browsing , and it is cheap!!!;-)
