Help Useless things on the phone

I am running the RAM drive from the GO themes. I am seeing a lot of useless things that keep running that I don't need. EX... postguard, liveware... I don't use any of that. How do I get rid of all of that. Next question is there is a lot of useless things on the SDcard. What is a good list of things that is not needed?

i just got my phone on sunday and havent had much time to play with what applications and programs are neeeded so i havent deleted much yet, BUT i found this video when i was looking around the other day.
you would have to go to all apps tab, to get the postcard, and stuff like that.

Yeah that is to delete things you have downloaded, I am talking about, like I unlocked it and using it on Telus. I wanna delete everything that has to do with Rogers. There are some apps for that, so on so forth.

click all tab..... it has all programs that were preloaded in that tab.

He's probably talking about the apps that are unremovable except with root file explorer with a rooted phone.

You need to root the phone and use Titanium Backup.

Im talking about for say, the phone is supposed to be Rogers communication, I unlocked it to be used on Telus comm... there are apps specifically signed to go directly to Rogers like... (My Account, urMusic, Shop, Ringback, Ringtone, it is all linked directly to Rogers.

ncassie is right the phone needs to be rooted to remove those preloaded apps that cannot be removed through application settings.

It is not bad for your phone. By rooting, you can

A)Remove Apps that are pre-loaded on the phone which frees up memory

B)Use Custom Roms

C)Often times you can get the latest Android OS update. Especially if you are on 2.1 but want 2.3. There are people who have roms built around the latest roms that will give you up to date features.

it's not bad...Except if you have no idea what you are doing and don't follow directions you can possibly mess up your phone.

I'm 18...I'm a girl so I already have some negatives against me when it comes to technology but i managed to do it and it is fairly easy.

But by rooting you do void your warranty on the phone but there is a way to remove the root so that the carrier/manufacturer's don't know you did it in the first place.

It's not good if you're me and brick your phone for 2 weeks before finally figuring it out haha. Read instructions thoroughly

LOL that is not negatives. My 10 year old daughter is very techie. She was installing her own apps at 4 and she has been making her own Anime movies and posts them on Youtube (she figured this out on her own) for 3-4 years now.
