User CP : Deleted Messages

I was just browsing my User CP when I stumbled upon the Deleted Visitor Messages section .
Moderation --> Deleted Items --> Visitor Messages

It has a bunch of messages from Feb 1 2009 to 24 September 2011 all moderated by some one else .121 messages to be exact
It looks like bunch of Spam or Private messages gone public .

Messages have been moderated by Moderators,Site Developer(whose yay messages have been deleted four times on 30th august) or users themselves .

And I seem to have access to many deleted messages of various profiles .

Anyway some messages are funny .Dentists ,porn ,t shirts ,gravity ,British food .......


Is supposed to be like that or something is fishy ??

hmmm maybe has something to do with the rights attributed to rom dev status? i asked phases about it once cause they showed for me when i was a guide even though i had nothing to do with deletions then

You shouldn't be able to see that list, but it does make sense that you can.

The ROM developer usergroup is, for some reason, listed as the visitor message moderator group. It must just be something Phases forgot to tweak when he made your usegroup. He should be able to fix it

I'm not sure whether or not it's possible to give everyone the ability to delete visitor messages on their profile, without the ability to see soft deleted messages there. It would be handy if it were possible though, you're not the first person to ask that.

Thanks for the suggestion but it's not really important enough to bug him every time I want something like that removed. I just saw this thread and it made me wonder about it.
