Uses for a retired android phone?

I get my Droid X out of the box anytime I need it to answer a question from the DX forum. People still post a couple of times a month in there. Loved my DX for 2.5 years. She still boots up quickly, even with her swollen battery, LOL

Keep as a spare, usually a good idea to have a "going out" phone.

Tiredness + Alcohol + Friends + Expensive Phones usually isn't a good mix.

i used to be an OtterBox addict but there are things about them i hate. 1) they're a literal pain to disassemble and clean the phone when it gets dirt under the built-in screen protector. 2) they are overpriced @ $49. 3) they lack the built-in battery that Mophie sold me on. since then i've had my GS3 in a Mophie case and now i can get a day or two on a charge. no swaps or rebooting necessary. and no built in screen protector to get dirt underneath.

My current phone is the SGS4. I still have my Atrix 4G which is still running GB and use it as a backup phone. Also, use it as a laptop, when docked in the laptop dock. Even though its old tech. Its still very useful.

I used to have an Atrix with the lapdock as well. I miss that phone! Was great in university for typing notes

Takes like 10 seconds to swap sim cards, otterbox doesn't protect you from forgetting your phone which is easily done when your intoxicated. ;)

I mean it's a good idea, but some people just don't like the hassle of doing it. Personally I would hate going back to my old phone, just because I would probably love my current phone too much :o
