Using 4G

Have to say I'm quite happy with my new Evo. Upgraded from the Moto Triumph, and while not a bad phone, just felt like it was abandoned by Moto and VM. The question I have here is, am I the only almost never using the 4G? I just find it unnecessary for everyday things like FB updates and emails. I only turn it on when 3G can't keep up with a video down load. Also, when I try to update apps while 4G connected, it has trouble "Connecting with server". Anyone else have this problem? And although I'm in NYC, I find the 4G reception to be so-so at best.

There is a issue with Google and Sprints 4G. They are aware and they are working on a fix.

Depends on the location. 4G can be awesome or ok. I too live in NYC, my residence is great. I could get 12-14mbps consistently. My work, when I first got the phone was great at 9mbps, but has now dwindled to 4-6 mbps.

Like you, I agree, I rarely use 4G. 3G on Evo V 4G is very usable vs 3G on Optimus V.

My 4G works really well as an internet connection but it won't download apps or pictures from the internet or anything. It'll just load forever and never start downloading, so I have to turn the 4G off to download it and on again when it's done. It's a headache.
