Root Using a Moto G 2nd Gen running 6.0, is there a safe way to root without a computer?

I have access to a macbook but I don't understand the guides and tutorials I've looked at. Can't even unlock the bootloader, lol. I got the powered-off-volume-down screen though.
I just tried KingRoot but it fails to root at 30% and tells me how 8000ish requests came through..

So, could anyone tell me how to quickly root my phone as if I was 80 and an idiot? :) (I just want to get rid of bloatware and change fonts and things. Maybe get more ram if possible)

Is it a Verizon or Sprint one or something. AFAIK those are impossible to root so far.

BTW having a Mac is not a problem, can always install Windows with Boot Camp, if absolutely needed for whatever reasons.

Welcome to our AndroidForums, @techidiot...I've moved your thread over here to our Moto G (2nd Gen) area for you.

Perhaps if you told the guys (and others seeing this) what commands you have used/tried, it would help them/us help you out.

Also, just wanted to make sure you knew that you can't actually "add" RAM to your device--that's a hardware resource that can't be changed (despite what some apps purport to say or do). You can monkey some some memory settings/configuration (swap, etc.), but truly adding RAM is not really feasible.

Finally, just want to reinforce that rooting, of course, gives you the power to make changes to your device. Those changes could be beneficial or harmful, so make sure you don't undertake any action whose consequences can't be reversed or recovered from (in my opinion, most folks overlook this and sometimes end-up with a non-functioning device).

Cheers and best of luck!

:)
