Help using different email servers

I use different send and receive email servers, ntlworld for receive and gmail for sending.
Or at least I did till a got the HTC one s. It just keeps telling me the account settings are incorrect but I use the same settings as my Htc desire which works fine. Is there a software fault? If send and receive servers are the same it works.

Problem solved I have installed K-9 mail which worked first time. Its the HTC mail app causing the problem, hopfully they will fix it.

I use k-9 on all my devices. It's way better than any stock email app I have used.

Loved it when I first discovered it, then I noticed that it liked to turn itself on for no particular reason. I don't do push email, so it had no reason to be running, yet it always was. Even after killing, it came back, like a zombie Emails to the author went unanswered.

Might be a larger Android issue, I don't know.
