Using different recovery image.

So I was wondering, how do you change to a different recovery for the roms that suggest to? I've got Rom manager which lets me switch between the clockwork recovery image and the stock one, but I've downloaded a separate recovery to use with a certain Rom and I can't figure out how to switch to it?
