Help Using G2 Without TouchScreen?

I'm having touchscreen issues....basically it wont work....I replaced my digitizer and it still doesnt work....if u have any suggestions id take that...but im posting this to see if there is a way for me to go back(like a back button) without using my touchscreen or even if there is a way for me to go back to my homescreen or like a homescreen shortcut? anyway for me to do any of these things just using my keyboard?

my friend was interested in saving his touchscreen, so he said he mapped one of the quick keys on his G2 to be a back button. said he used something on XDA called a Button Remapper or something. a quick search of the XDA site does yield several results, so perhaps you could try that? hope that helps a bit.
