Help Using Google Voice via Browser on EVO?

Oddest thing I found on my father's EVO:
he was using his browser & going to the Google Voice website & making calls from there.
(just as though he was sitting @ his PC)

GV would ring him on his EVO & connect him to the caller.

I thought GV was initiated via the EVO dialer - that's how I do it.

I was unable to replicate it on my EVO via the browser only using the dialer works.

Any1 have any guesses why this works?

I bet he's updated his google maps and searched for something and dialed directly from their.

Check your web browser and google maps and be sure they are both up to date.

Are you sure he's not using the GV app? Or else he has configured his EVO to use the Sprint integration, which nullifies the need to use the GV app, as it sends calls and sms directly to the phone's native dialer and sms app.

You can use the mobile version of the google voice site by simply going to voice.google.com in your browser. Sign in and voila!
